We are beginning our study of current events. Your child will be assigned the task of finding an event and reporting on it using the form at the bottom of this page.
The directions are as follows:
Find an article that you want to report.
Fill out the form (either on the computer or a hard copy) using complete sentences.
Hard copies will be available at school, but it is your child’s responsibility to get it from the bucket.
The Article can be attached to the report.
The page can be decorated/illustrated.

The goal of this assignment is two-fold. The first one is to begin to learn how to seek, read, and evaluate news stories. This is a new skill for your child and your help and input will be invaluable. In addition, retrieving and completing the form on the wiki will give your child some “real” school experience. Your child may need some help with the typing. This is OK, but remember I want the words and ideas to be theirs, not yours.
